Last year, the nearby city of Stryków became an important highway junction and Åódź probably has the best road connections among all Polish cities. The people in the city are very enthusiastic about it (http://www.lodzkie.autost...), despite the fact that the development plans for a city by-pass and a highway connecting the city to Warsaw have been changing constantly over the last few years so there is no real guarantee even now that they will be carried out. For now:
The âA2â âE30â is finished to PoznaÅ and partly to Berlin there is a small gap at the border, substituting â2â
A small part of âA1â around Åódź, which is planned to substitute the â1â âE75â road between GdaÅsk and Katowice, the most congested road in Poland, is also ready.
The planned âA8â highway to WrocÅaw has been downgraded in plans to âS8â expressway.
